Mary Green
Chief of Staff
Dr. Green was born in Oklahoma and moved to Spring, Texas during middle school. From an early age, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and started working for a small vet clinic in her hometown while in high school. She was accepted to Texas A&M University and graduated with her degree in Animal Science in 2007 and was accepted to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine the same year. After graduation, Dr. Green accepted her first job in the small hill country town of Bandera, Texas. She worked for six years in a mixed animal practice where she gained experience working on all kinds of animals from dogs and cats to cattle and alpacas.
A career change for her husband took Dr. Green back to the Houston area where she had practiced in a small animal practice for the next five years while having her two daughters. She enjoyed getting to work in her hometown and seeing clients that she first met while working in high school, but she always missed the small-town atmosphere of her first job. Dr. Green and her husband recently relocated to Grimes County and are happy to be back in a small community to raise their daughters.
Dr. Green has had the opportunity to see and work with a variety of cases and
patients throughout her career but she maintains a special interest in dentistry and internal medicine cases and has a special place in her heart for giant breed dogs. Outside of work, she stays busy with her two daughters Allie and Elizabeth, and the family’s two dogs, a boxer mix named Copper and a Shih Tzu mix named Lincoln. She looks forward to getting to know the clients at Shenandoah Veterinary Clinic and all of their four-legged family members!
